Chandra Asri Group at a Glance

Chandra Asri Group is Indonesia's leading chemical and infrastructure solutions company, operating an integrated petrochemical plant that incorporates world-class, state-of-the-art technology and supporting facilities. We operate the country’s only Naphtha Cracker, Styrene Monomer, Butadiene, MTBE and Butene-1 plants, supported by core infrastructure assets encompassing energy, water and jetty & tank facilities, with new Chlor-Alkali – Ethylene Dichloride plant development on the horizon.

We ensure our customers’ satisfaction, which has been leading the growth of our petrochemical market share over the past 31 years. This growth is a result of good corporate governance and prudent financial management. Businesswise, we are committed to establishing and integrating global partnerships while never compromising on service. Investing in our workforce as well as engaging in equitable corporate responsibility programs is at the heart of everything we do and is integral to our business.

Adding to the value of our petrochemical value chain and together in a joint venture with multinational tire producer Compagnie Financière du Groupe Michelin (Michelin) as our strategic partner, PT Synthetic Rubber Indonesia (SRI) is producing raw materials for environmentally friendly tires.

To better serve domestic demand for petrochemical products and ease the country’s import burden, we are also building our second petrochemical complex, PT Chandra Asri Perkasa (CAP2). With this expansion, we aim to maintain our leadership in the market while also contributing to Indonesia’s economic growth and improving its trade balance.

In pursuit of operational, technical, and financial stability of CAP2's development, in the beginning of 2023 Chandra Asri executed a strategic Programmatic M&A strategy by acquiring a 70% stake in PT Krakatau Daya Listrik and a 49% stake in PT Krakatau Tirta Industri. This move aims to integrate all infrastructure assets, encompassing electricity and water supply to support the expansion plan of CAP2 and to fulfil industrial as well as community needs in Cilegon.

Our wholly-owned subsidiary under CAP2, PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA), is currently in the process of constructing the world-scale Chlor Alkali and Ethylene Dichloride plant (CA-EDC Plant), with the goal of expanding our second petrochemical complex product range. This facility is expected to serve the regional market and contribute to Indonesia's ambition to developing downstream industry, positioning the nation in the global EV value chain, with Caustic Soda being crucial chemical for nickel and alumina refining.

Chandra Asri Group built the foundations of its strength from the merger between PT Tri Polyta Indonesia Tbk and PT Chandra Asri, transforming into PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, and changed into PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk in 2024. After the merger, we welcomed SCG Chemicals Co. Ltd as one of our strategic partners and shareholders. SCG Chemicals joined PT Barito Pacific Tbk, who is Chandra Asri’s majority shareholder, making us the largest publicly listed petrochemical company in Indonesia. In 2021, Thaioil, the largest, most integrated and most efficient refinery and supplier of petroleum products in Thailand, join the force as a strategic investor to build CAP2.
