Chandra Asri won 2 award categories in the Corporate Emissions Transparency Award 2022. There is Transparency of Emission Reduction in the Green category and Transparency of Emission Calculations in the Gold category. This award was given by the investor magazine in collaboration with the independent party PT Bumi Global Karbon. The assessment of this award is based on looking at the disclosure of information in this year's Sustainability Report. For the assessment of the emission reduction success category, refer to the standard formulated by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).
With this award, we continue to strive to make concrete steps in terms of managing and reducing carbon emissions sustainably.
Chandra Asri launched Trilene® RI20HC0; a Polypropylene (PP) resin that can be used as a raw material for the manufacture of syringes. The resin is specially designed to meet the strictest medical standard for syringe applications that can also support the Government's program in accelerating COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters in Indonesia.
Trilene® RI20HC02 has passed medical device biocompatibility testing and also certified with ISO 10993 standards. Thus, this resin is safe to use as a medical device application because it has been tested for its appropriateness in managing biological risks. This medical device has also been confirmed to have no potentially harmful physiological effects for humans. The Trilene® RI20HC02 is Chandra Asri’s form of commitment to develop the national petrochemical industry to support the government in creating the independence of the domestic industrial sector.
As a commitment to implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (Chandra Asri) continues its circular economy program, Asphalt Plastic Road for Indonesia Asri, which is targeted to reach 100 km by 2023. As of December 2021, the Company has implemented 50.8 km of plastic road across various locations in Indonesia in collaboration with its partner. The plastic road uses a total of 37.5 million pieces of plastic waste; or equal to 282 tons of waste that has been successfully managed from the landfill (TPA).
Asphalt Plastics Road for Indonesia Asri is one of Chandra Asri’s ESG implementation through circular economy program to contribute to a cleaner environment. This program was made possible through a solid collaboration and participation of various stakeholders in dealing with waste problem, especially plastic waste. Initiating positive partnerships for Asphalt Plastic Road is one of our participation as a market leader in implementing circular economy.
In an effort to increase public awareness regarding biodiversity conservation (Kehati), Chandra Asri held socialization regarding the use of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) and household waste management on Thursday, 31 March 2022. Located in one of the Company's fostered PAUD Cahaya Bintang in Grogol Indah Village, Anyar District, Serang, Banten, the socialization was attended by 25 residents who were the representatives of parents and PAUD teachers. During the socialization, the Company also distributed plant seeds and symbolic planting of seeds.
In addition to biodiversity socialization, Chandra Asri also provided firefighting training. The demonstration was done by the Company's Emergency Response Team (ERT), followed by firefighting practices from the participants. Through these activities, residents are expected to gain an understanding of the first actions that must be taken when fire occurs in the area around residential areas.
PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk in collaboration with the Unsur Muspika of Anyer District, Anyer Health Center, and the Serang District Health Office held vaccination stages 1, 2 and booster on Friday, 1 April, 2022. This assistance for vaccination program was given to 500 residents of Anyer sub-district who had met the requirements. In addition, assistance in the form of 500 food packages was also given to residents who participated.
Since the start of vaccination efforts to combat COVID-19, Chandra Asri has facilitated more than 11,000 people consisting of employees, employees' families, work partners and the general public to get the COVID-19 vaccine, both the first and second doses, also booster vaccines to achieve herd immunity. Chandra Asri will continue to contribute to public health in line with the company's commitment to achieving universal health as stated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Chandra Asri won 3 award categories in TOP CSR Awards 2022 held by TOP Business Magazine. The categories were TOP CSR Awards 2022 5 Stars, TOP CSR Awards 2022 in the Environmental Category for the End-to-End Plastic Waste Management program, and TOP Leader on CSR Commitment 2022.
With the awards theme "Being a Responsible Company is the Key Strategy for Business Sustainable Growth", there are 3 main aspects assessed in this nomination, one of which is the alignment of the CSR program with the Company's business strategy and competitiveness. Through this award, we will continue to be committed to implementing sustainable programs based on a circular economy, in accordance with the company's principles of People, Planet, Profit by adopting an Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) approach.
Chandra Asri partners with leading HR tech provider, Darwinbox, to digitalize end-to-end Human Resources. Chandra Asri has developed a five-year digital transformation roadmap and this partnership with Darwinbox is a part of that journey leading the Company to adopt new technology platforms for co-creating a holistic digital ecosystem.
Darwinbox’s technology enables Chandra Asri employees to be connected, where they can access any HR related processes in one app, anywhere and anytime. Overall, the integrated HR platform will enable better collaboration, higher employee productivity, as well as better employee and candidate experiences.
Chandra Asri held Parenting Class activities for PAUD in Pulo Ampel District, namely PAUD Al-Hikmah and PAUD Nusantara on 23-24 March 2022. The activity was attended by a total of 36 participants while still implementing health protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19. The Parenting Class material was delivered by Mrs. Hj. Yenni Kesuma, SKM., MMkes as the Head of the Puloampel Community Health Center and covered the importance of educating children from an early age and preparing children for growth and development since the first 1000 days of life.
Chandra Asri continues to be committed in carrying out CSR activities through synergistic cooperation with the government and partners to be able to contribute to sustainable development in the community. This is in line with the Company's commitment to implementing the values of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) in order to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Chandra Asri have successfully completed its 3rd IDR bond program with overwhelming oversubscription. Phase I in 2020 was closed with a value of IDR 1 trillion, followed by Phase II in 2020 of IDR 600 billion, Phase III in 2021 of IDR 1 trillion, Phase IV in 2021 of IDR 1 trillion, and the final Phase V in 2022 of IDR 1.4 trillion.
The final Phase V 2022 issuance recorded the biggest ever order book and oversubscription order of IDR2.5 trillion (~US$178mln), with a new record of largest single-tranche issuance for Chandra Asri of IDR1.4 trillion (~US$100mln). It also recorded one of the longest tenors for a private industrial company, with up to 10 years bullet repayment, at competitive and compelling terms. Chandra Asri will seek to grow its IDR Bond Shelf Program and will launch a new shelf in 2022 to provide investors with continuous opportunities to participate in the growth and expansion of the Company.
The Garut Regency Government has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Chandra Asri and Bakti Barito Foundation (Bakti Barito) to support the implementation of 50 km plastic asphalt in Garut, spread on various roads within the regency. The implementation of the first phase of this project will cover 23 km of asphalt road and manage 28.8 million pieces of plastic shopping bag waste. The plastic waste used in this project will be provided by Chandra Asri in collaboration with the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI).
This plastic asphalt cooperation in Garut will be implemented throughout 2022 up to 2023. It is estimated that up to 216.6 tons of waste from Garut's Final Disposal Site (TPA) will be managed from this project. The plastic asphalt program has previously been implemented in Jabodetabek, Cilegon, Tegal, and Kudus, as a result of collaboration between the local governments and the private sector.
